Smokovec Mineral Spring (Smokovecká kyselka) is a natural mineral spring that is freely accessible to the public. It is located in a modified gazebo in Stary Smokovec and has a rich history dating back to 1764. It was thanks to the interest in this mineral water that the settlement of Starý Smokovec was founded in 1793.
The water has a unique iron colour and is known for its beneficial effects on digestion, nervous and skin diseases. It is a great place for a short walk and refreshment during hiking, where you can drink water directly from the spring and feel its power.
In the immediate vicinity, only about 100 meters below the spring, there is a modern bottling plant of Tatra mineral water (Chamois). In this bottling plant, water is bottled directly from the spring. It is an interesting addition to a visit to the spring, which will show you how this natural treasure gets to the market.
