A walk around Štrbské pleso is a classic that every visitor to the High Tatras should experience. It is an ideal and undemanding activity that allows you to relax from the demanding hikes and enjoy the beauty of the mountain nature. The comfortable and wheelchair accessible trail goes around the entire lake, so it is suitable for all ages, including families with strollers and seniors.
The entire circuit is approximately 4 km long and takes around one hour. During the walk, you can stop at one of the many benches that line the lake shore and take a break. There are also information boards along the trail that will introduce you to the history and attractions of the area. During your walk, you will see the historic hotels that line the lake shore and breathe history. On the route around Štrbské Pleso there is also the Monument to the Heroes of the Slovak National Uprising.
A walk around the lake offers a unique view of the surroundings and the surrounding peaks, such as the Solisko Ridge, which is reflected on the calm surface of the lake. At the edge of the lake you will also find an "oxygen track" with exercise stations, so that you can get some exercise alongside your relaxation.
